We are living in extraordinary times with this global pandemic. Some of us have very quiet businesses and others are working beyond normal capacity. If you’re in small business and work is on the quieter side of life, COVID is gifting you the perfect time to review and update things that you may have been putting off. Now is the time to take advantage.
As a small biz practitioner, you may be taking advantage of the multitude of available online training right now. If you’re super lucky, your trainer will be providing ‘break out rooms’ or facilitating opportunities to practice new techniques and knowledge.
This is the perfect time to not only learn new skills, practice them with new colleagues, but enhance your professional capacity through a couple of small actions.
They say a picture tells a thousand words and in my opinion, a testimonial or review is just as good. Testimonials are a lovely gesture for you to say thanks to the practitioner who has lovingly provided you with a service. When gifting reviews to your colleagues you can be strategic in supporting them to advertise or promote a new skill or addition to their service.
As we have probably all experienced kinesiology and coaching as modalities can be tricky/challenging to market and promote. My advice is to stick with promoting how you help clients reduce their stress systems and meet their goals. Testimonials and reviews are perfect for this purpose.
When pairing up with a colleague, learn the addresses of their social media sites. Invite the opportunity to like and share each other’s pages. If you like the balance provided by your new colleague, give them a testimonial and/or review!
I have created a template in my professional www.canva.com account. Each time I get feedback I can knock up a draft for the client to review and approve and have it posted in under ten minutes.
Facebook reviews are often an immediate source of referral that a new client will seek. Your audience may have been watching your social content for some time and have finally decided to investigate spending their dollars to working with you.
More often than not, a good testimonial should include three things:
1. What did the client come to you with?
2. How did you make the client feel?
3. Have the symptoms now gone?
Set up your systems so that you can easily capture testimonials and feedback from your clients. For example, automate sending the client a text or email the day after their session and ask them “so how are you feeling today?”.
When you receive a response that is positive, ask permission to use it as a testimonial (limit name reference) and provide a sample for the client to ‘see’ what your intention is. To date, I’ve never had anyone say no!
Commence gathering a collection of testimonials and utilise them sporadically throughout your marketing and across social media platforms. Remember, varied length testimonials are also very handy when building or updating your website and filling in blank areas!
Remember as always, everything in life is practice. Use this COVID period to gather your testimonials and reviews, create a capture system and promote our amazing modality and your business all at the same time!
