What is Mental Health Counselling?
Mental health counselors are therapeutically trained and registered professionals who can help support and treat the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional aspects of mental health and substance use conditions.
This translates to Karen meets you where you’re at, without judgement and a truck load of respect – becase we all have stuff.
Karen’s job is to actively listen, and then help you to create a better understanding of yourself, and build better relationships with yourself and others.
Karen supports you to focus on your presenting issue and then empower you to make better choices and to process and manage your perception of the present and your past experiences.
Karen is a Gippsland based Trauma Informed Coach, and Mental Health Counsellor. She has studied and uses additional evidence-based therapeutic approaches (such as Hypnotherapy, CBT, DBT, Resource Therapy and Meditation) to assist people to make positive changes in their lives
Karen is also an established Advanced Kinesiology Practitioner (behavioural neuro science) with specialities in LEAP and Neuro Training.

Karen takes pride in always providing a safe, caring, and compassionate space for clients to confidentially explore their life challenges, and support them to make positive changes in their lives.
Some clients require a singular session, others require more. Appointments can be booked individually, and bundles are available upon request.
Appointments are available in-person, online, as well as group experiences organised via your NDIS Support Coordinators.

Counselling can support you to-
Counseling can be beneficial for a number of emotional and mental issues such as frustration, anger, fear, self worth etc. You may be experiencing anxiety, panic even depression as you recover from a physical disability or injury.
- Manage your emotions
The goal is to support the client to gain an understanding of what their emotions are and how those emotions affect the mind and body. The counselling process aims to support you to identify your common responses, to gently explore your short- and long-term effects. Within a session we work together to explore ways you can care for yourself and consider processing emotions in new and different ways.
- NDIS counselling
You may be experiencing a variety of thoughts and feelings as you learn to live with a physical disability. Issues such as anxiety, fear, frustration, phobias, or anger.
The NDIS counselling and support services offered by Karen Humphries, can help you take care of your Mental Health so you may live a happier and more fulfilling life.
- Day Retreat Experiences
You may struggle to implement all the tools provided by Karen during your appointment.
Retreats are unique 1-day immersions into a boutique experience, to love yourself deeply with kindness. They have been carefully curated to allow you to reconnect into your heart space at your pace, and call forward your positive and empowered parts like self worth, deservability, and self-confidence.
