The Six Hot Tips to Keep Your General Well-Being High

We all have stuff – right? Of course we do!

But current lifestyles are so rapid paced that it becomes possible for us to unravel very quickly. Additionally, society seems to have this unrealistic expectation that we can and should, be able to do it all. And trying to meet these demands is placing our bodies in unrealistic levels of stress which aren’t self sustaining or rejuvenating.

When I talk with clients, they are so overwhelmed with the sheer volume of what information is correct and appropriate to maintain health. So rather than sweating the big stuff, I encourage something a little different.

What I recommend we need to be focused on is wellness or rather well-being.

So how do we define that?

The difference between health and wellness, in short, health is a state of being, whereas wellness is the state of living a healthy lifestyle. The reference to health denotes to physical, mental, and social well-being; and our well-being should aim to enhance our health.

An ideal model of well-being incorporates the following facets of social, emotional, spiritual, environmental, occupational, intellectual and physical wellness. Now before you freak and wonder how on earth you’re gonna make all that happen, you may be surprised to realise you may have already begun ticking the boxes.

So, here’s an overview of my hot tips, or rather hot bits that I use to maintain my well-being:

Physical: the obvious advice that we should be maintaining our body through regular exercise, proper nutrition, sleeping well and avoiding harmful habits. Maintaining a consistent well-rounded exercise program is crucial to physical wellness. Start with a gentle stroll or some basic yoga and work your way up to a sweat.

Emotional: Connection with your emotional presence and awareness and being comfortable with your own thoughts and feelings is vital. Emotional wellness relies on being able to acknowledge and express one’s thoughts and sensations and to be able to absorb those of others.

Spiritual: We all want to have a sense that our life is meaningful, and more importantly we want to be connected to our purpose because this allows us to guide ourselves along our journey path. It is so empowering when we can acknowledge and own our stuff. Spiritual wellness is about embracing the meta-physical and reaching beyond the physical realm of existence and experiences.

Intellectual: A sense of well-being is achieved when we actively engage in lively interaction with the world around us. The intellect is about flexing the mind’s muscle and opening the mind. Using kinesiology we can build our intellectual being with continued learning, problem solving, processing and creativity. Intellectual wellness involves connecting with others on a cerebral level. It’s important to remain creative in your outlook and thinking.

Environmental: Environmental wellness is about respecting nature and your surroundings. We have the opportunity to gain such personal fulfillment from our surroundings when they are serene and chaos free.

I encourage living plants inside the home and workplace to provide healthy air and alignment to clean energy. Stepping outside to discharge the build up of positive ions in the body is exceptional to clear your energy.

Social: Social wellness is about relating, interacting and communicating well with others. Social wellness is also about being comfortable in your own skin to be able to contribute and engage in a healthy living environment. Remember to detach from the drama of others and embrace the joy at every opportunity life provides you.

By embracing these multi life dimensions you are better equipped to manage the complexities and spontaneity life presents to us. Everything in life can be viewed as a gift. It’s all just a lesson afterall.

Remember there is no failure, just lessons waiting to be embraced. So remember embrace your race at your pace. You can choose to change and bloom from within.
